The Shop Story

Hi, I’m Anaïs

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been fascinated by the Indigenous peoples of the Americas.

When I watched westerns, I always rooted for the “Indians.” What started as a child’s curiosity eventually grew into a real passion.

As I got older, I began to dig deeper. And then came THE shock: the reality of Native life is nothing like the oversimplified version passed down for generations.

    • No, not all Native Americans lived in tipis (only some nomadic Plains tribes did). Many had villages—some of them large, with populations reaching up to 40,000.

    • And no, there isn’t just “one Indian people.” There are hundreds of distinct nations, each with its own language, traditions, and history.

    • From the Sioux to the Maya, the Mapuche to the Zapotec… every people carries a unique cultural richness, often misunderstood or reduced to clichés.

All the things I thought I knew turned out to be wrong—or at least far more complex than I ever imagined.

    How This Shop Began

One day, I ordered a sweater and a ring from a store “inspired by Native style.” The result?

    • The sweater fell apart after two months.

    • The ring had a stone glued on crooked.

In other words… cheap, soulless, made-in-China products.

In France, I couldn’t find anything better—nothing authentic, nothing durable.
In the U.S., there were specialized stores, but rarely a place that brought everything together.

So, when I moved abroad to the very lands that had fascinated me since childhood, one idea became clear:

    Create my own shop.

A shop with products that are durable, carefully chosen, and full of meaning.

    My Vision

At Native American Shop, you won’t find counterfeits or mass-produced items from anonymous factories.
Every piece is sourced from trusted suppliers, mainly across the Americas—from Canada to Peru, including the U.S. and Mexico.

I’ve chosen quality over quantity, offering products that last, that inspire, and that respect the spirit behind them.
Shared warehouses in Mexico and Peru allow me to keep items accessible—without compromising authenticity.

    More Than Just a Shop

Native American Shop is not only about products.
It’s also a space for exploration and sharing.

Through the blog, I write about what I learn: the history of First Nations, their beliefs, their languages, their ways of life… and, just as importantly, the stereotypes we need to break.

You’re in the Right Place If…

    • You’re passionate about Indigenous cultures of the Americas.

    • You’re looking for objects that tell a story.

    • You value quality items, chosen with respect and care.

    Then welcome.
Take a look around the shop, or dive into the blog, and let yourself be inspired by the incredible richness of Indigenous peoples
