The finest quality White Tail Deer Hide Drums The Drums come with your choice of a Faux Suede or Deer Leather Four Directions Drum Handle as well as a Drum Sounder to play the Drum. The 10" Drum comes with a Child Drum Stick as this tends to sounds better on the smaller diameter Drum. The 12" and 14" Drums come with a regular size Drum Stick. All Drums come with a Drum Maintenance Sheet with information on owning and taking care of a Natural Hide Drum. The Drums are 2 1/2" (6 cm) in depth Custom Orders are available by clicking on ramdrums and requesting a Custom Order I have been making Drums for 30 Years. I have made Djembes, Ashikos, Dunduns, Talking Drums, Taiko Drums, Peruvian Drums, Frame Drums, Hand Drums, and Custom Drums. Recently I was commissioned to make several Custom Drums for the Apple TV series "SEE". Over the last 10 years I have facilitated Drum Making Workshops for the Humber College Aboriginal Camp where over 1,000 Grade 7 and 8 First Nations students made their own 14" Hand Drum. I have also supplied thousands of Drum Making Kits and Supplies to other Drum Makers for their Drum Making Workshops. The Drum Skin is from White Tail Deer hunted in Ontario and Quebec. It is obtained through a program called "Hats for Hides" This is a program where hunters drop off the hides at depots and receive hunting paraphernalia like hats and badges. The Depots then ship the hides to tanneries to be cured as leather and rawhide. Most of the animals are hunted for food and the skins would have been thrown away or left out in the bush. None of the Deer where hunted to obtain hides to make Drums. The hides that I work with have been selected as Top Grade by the tannery and, being wild, each has their own unique markings.
